Antonio Romero grew up in Rural Maryland and taught himself to draw by copying the images of Jim Lee and Todd McFarlane. As he approached his twenties, Antonio immersed himself in the comics of Frank Miller, Dave McKean, Bill Sienkiewicz and Mike Mignola, and began experimenting with comics of his own. A selection of this work, made between 1997 and 2007, is collected in FLYING SOLO, forming a semi-autobiographical narrative of personal, and artistic exploration.
Having settled in New York City, Antonio continues to make comics, drawing inspiration from everything he can get his hands on. He plans to begin self-publishing SUPER DUPER HAM in 2008, and to create some science fiction in the near future. |
