ROBOTS FOLLOW ME HOME

Inspired by the illustration styles of Frank Miller and Kent Williams, I drew this 8-page comic in 1997.

I liked the idea of an antagonist who could be redeemed, rather than destroyed. To simplify the narrative, so I could start and finish this project over a single weekend, I made the antagonist a robot that could be set to good or evil.

Robots Follow Me Home was first self-published in the 2014 2nd edition of Sketches and Streams.

The cover was created in 2019 for the 3rd edition. Printouts of the text were physically distressed, layered together and scanned into the computer. I also took the opportunity to update the robot’s instructions and chest display in the panel art.
